Shuswap residents will have to change their habits when it comes to recycling paint and light bulbs.

As of September 30, 2020, both RONA and Home Hardware in Salmon Arm have decided not to continue their participation in the Product Care program and will no longer be accepting residential paint or light bulbs for drop off.

Under the BC Ministry of Environment's Recycling Regulation, Product Care is the non-profit organization responsible for providing recycling solutions for post-consumer products including paint, light bulbs, smoke alarms and hazardous waste.
