CSRD Local Government Elections 2018

The Columbia Shuswap Regional District will be holding elections for qualified voters in the six (6) Electoral Areas for a four-year term on Saturday, October 20, 2018.  Polls open at 8:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM (Local Time). Voting locations will be announced once the nomination process is complete.

There is a single referendum being run in conjunction with the General Local Elections for the residents of the CSRD's Electoral Area A only. Overview

The B.C. government is responsible for the core local government system and its legislative framework. The administration of general local elections is a shared responsibility between the local government and Elections BC.
 

  • Local government is responsible for running its own general local election.
  • Elections BC is responsible for the administration of the provincial electoral process in B.C. and the campaign financing and third party advertising rules under the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act.
