Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Development Services Department is currently operating and will be doing our best to maintain regular levels of service. What We Do
The Development Services (DS) Department’s mandate is to provide region-wide land use planning and development control to meet the expectations and needs of the residents of the region. The department provides professional advice and recommendations to the Board of Directors who provide policy directives and decision-making on significant land use matters.
Development Services staff adheres to provincial government legislation and regulations and works cooperatively with provincial and federal government ministries in the delivery of its products and services. The DS Department’s organization is structured into four distinct functions:
