Electoral Area A
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) will be developing a policy that does not support the extraction of fresh water for commercial bottled water sales in Electoral Area A (Rural Golden).
The initiation of the policy was spurred on by recent concern from citizens in the area regarding an application in the Town of Golden for a water bottling facility.
Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) Directors want to proceed immediately on plans to identify the water treatment options and potential costs for the development of a community water system in Nicholson, located in Electoral Area A (Rural Golden).
The study will also determine if there is sufficient community support to establish a community water system in the area.
Residents in the Columbia Shuswap Regional District are being urged to try out a new online testing portal which is designed to measure internet connection speeds.
This would include residents of all the Columbia Shuswap Regional District's Electoral Areas, as well as those who live in municipalities, including Salmon Arm, Sicamous, Revelstoke and Golden.
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District is inviting Quotes for a three year term for the snow clearing and sanding services at the Refuse Disposal Sites located in Falkland, Glenemma, Malakwa, Parson, Scotch Creek and Skimikin, BC.
Quotes will be accepted until 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the office of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District, 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, PO Box 978, Salmon Arm, BC, V1E 4P1.

Columbia Shuswap Regional District Directors unanimously approved an application from the Golden & District Search and Rescue for up to $80,000 from the Electoral Area A Community Works Fund for renovations to their service bay.
