What is Development Variance Permit No. 701-125 (DVP701-125)?

The subject property is located at 2591 Bay Crescent in Blind Bay of Electoral Area C and is more particularly shown on the location map:

The applicant has applied for a building permit for the construction of an addition to a single family dwelling which will be located too close to the rear parcel line. The applicant has requested two variances (see site plans):

  • Reduce the minimum setback from the rear parcel line from 5.0 metres to 3.91 metres for the proposed addition to the single family dwelling
  • Reduce the minimum setback from the rear parcel line from 5.0 metres to 4.35 metres for an existing shed

A copy of the proposed permit application and relevant background documents may be inspected at the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD), 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm, beginning Tuesday, January 4, 2022, and ending Thursday, January 20, 2022. (Please note that CSRD office hours open to the public are subject to change depending upon Provincial Health Orders and recommendations.) The documents will also be available to view on the CSRD website starting on Friday, January 14, 2022, under the applicable meeting date.

How do I send a written submission about this permit application?

Written submissions will be accepted at the CSRD until 4 pm on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. The Board of the CSRD considers the author's name and residential address relevant to the Board's consideration of this matter and should be included in your submission. The author's phone number and email address are not relevant to the Board's consideration of this matter and should not be included in the written submission. Written submissions received by the CSRD are subject to public disclosure and a copy may be provided to the applicant. Please clearly write "DVP Submission - DVP701-125" on your submission. Written submissions may be submitted via email or to the address above.

Where and when will the permit be considered for issuance?

At the CSRD, 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC, during the Regular Board Meeting commencing at 9:30 am on Thursday, January 20 2022.

Public attendance is permitted at the meeting subject to special COVID-19 provisions, including a maximum capacity limit in the Boardroom and mandatory mask requirements. Alternatively, the public may join the meeting electronically via Zoom. There is no specific opportunity for the public to provide verbal or written submissions about this application at this meeting.
