With winter storms or weather changes, often concerns with winter driving conditions start to crop up and the CSRD office begins to receive calls asking for service. This is a reminder to citizens that the CSRD does not have jurisdiction over roads within its boundaries. This includes any road issues such as: snowplowing, potholes, snowbanks, icy conditions or any other winter road-related concern.

The City of Salmon Arm, the City of Revelstoke, the District of Sicamous and the Town of Golden are responsible for snow clearing within their municipal boundaries.
Within the Columbia Shuswap Regional District's (CSRD) Electoral Areas, all of the roads are the responsibility of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
The Provincial contractors within the CSRD boundaries are:
Service Area 12 - Selkirk (Revelstoke - Golden region) - This includes Electoral Areas A and B excluding the Trout Lake area (see more below). A portion of Electoral Area E is also included. The cut-off point between Service Areas 12 and 13 is east of Craigellachie and west of Three Valley Gap.
