The COVID-19 pandemic continued to make its mark on the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) in 2021, but the past year was also affected by the intense summer wildfire season in the Shuswap.

These are two of the topics covered in the CSRD’s Annual Report 2021, which was received by Directors at the April 21 Regular Board Meeting.

But the report is not only about the challenges faced by the organization, it also outlines the work accomplished through the vast region of the CSRD, which includes stretches from the Alberta boundary in the east, through Golden, Revelstoke, Sicamous and Salmon Arm, including Falkland, Salmon Valley and the North and South Shuswap.

It provides a comprehensive overview of the CSRD's services, financial data, programs and projects for our constituents, Board Directors, staff, volunteers and community stakeholders throughout the region. The report provides a detailed look at how the CSRD continued to use the direction of its Strategic Plan (2019-2022) to focus its efforts and examines how the CSRD took action to satisfy these objectives.

This report is our chance to better inform our residents of the types of programs and services delivered on a region-wide, sub-regional and local basis.

The CSRD also wants to enhance transparency and promote open conversation with our citizens by accounting for how tax dollars are being spent and what progress has been made on various priority projects.

The report is now available to the public online.
