[ARCHIVED] Shuswap Economic Development Society Hires Executive Director

The Board of Directors of the newly formed Shuswap Economic Development Society (SEDS) are pleased to announce the hiring of John Reed as the Society's Executive Director.

John brings over 20 years of economic development and project management expertise to the society.

John has been involved in many start-up and business development projects including the design and implementation Trail's Junior Dragons Den, a highly successful provincial youth business competition, to the development and launch of Western Canada's premier obstacle course race/run series.

John's background has been focused on adventure and outdoor projects including General Manager of Redstone Resort in Rossland, Manager of Recreation for the City of Rossland and the entrepreneurial Services Coordinator for Community Futures of Greater Trail.

"SEDS is very excited to have John come on board to lead economic development for Regional District Electoral Areas C, D and F," says Joan Ragsdale, Chair of the SEDS hiring committee.

"We are looking forward to benefiting from his personal experience as an entrepreneur and his background in rural economic development. His collaborative leadership style and strong business development knowledge makes John an excellent fit to work with the businesses and communities within the SEDS region."
