[ARCHIVED] Notice of Permit: Development Permit Number 850-46

Wednesday, May 12, 2021

What is Development Permit Number 850-46 (DP850-46)?

The subject property is located at 3316 Farrell Frontage Road in the West Revelstoke area of Electoral Area B and is more particularly shown on the location map below:

Development Permit 850-46 Location

A Commercial Development Permit is required to address the form and character of development on this commercially zoned property. The owners have constructed a new tourist cabin and a utility/laundry building on the subject property. Development on the property should be in accordance with the Commercial Development Permit guidelines contained in the Electoral Area B Official Community Plan. The proposal generally complies with these guidelines. Tourist cabins are only permitted on parcels 1 ha or larger and the tourist cabin and a hot tub were placed within the required interior side parcel boundary. The development permit is proposed to include the following variances to Electoral Area B Zoning Bylaw Number 851 to allow for these structures to remain on the property in their current location:

Section 3.16.(1)(c) minimum parcel area required for tourist cabins from 1 ha to 0.46 ha; and

Section 5.12.(3)(l) minimum setback from the interior side parcel boundary from 5 metres to 3 metres for a tourist cabin and hot tub.

See the site plan below for the location of the proposed setback variance.
