All Evacuation Orders and Alerts within the CSRD remain in place for all fires listed.
White Rock Lake: 62,273 hectares
No significant fire growth is expected in the CSRD.
Yesterday, there were more unstable conditions, but the smoke kept the temperatures down. Today, the weather forecast shows clouds with a maximum temperature of 29C. Winds are blowing from the southwest causing an increase in fire behaviour.
Please note that this fire stretches across different municipalities and Regional Districts - visit your local government's website for area-specific updates.
Crazy Creek Gorge FSR: 4,001 hectares
The smoke did moderate the fire behaviour for this fire last night. The smoke did not lift yesterday and as a result there was no bucketing due to poor visibility.
Structure protection set up is now complete in Pete Martin Bay, Queest and structures south of the community of Queest. Units are set up on buildings in and are fully operational. Structure protection personnel will continue to maintain systems for effectiveness.
Hunakwa: 3,355 hectares
The smoke reduced temperatures and fire behaviour. There is some continuous burning in the east and west but it is internal and is not threatening containment lines at this time. The smoke did not lift yesterday and as a result there was no bucketing due to poor visibility.
Two Mile Road: 1,542 hectares
The smoke moderated fire behaviour and heavy smoke prevented bucketing operations due to poor visibility. We are waiting on more information and will update later today.
