[ARCHIVED] White Rock Lake Fire Update - August 17 - 10:30 Hours

White Rock Fire Update August 17 Morning

Tuesday, August 17, 2021

10:30 Hours

All areas of the White Rock Lake Fire saw rain in the afternoon and evening of August 16.

  • The northern half of the fire, which includes the Falkland and Cedar Hill areas, saw approximately 12 millilitres of rainfall.
  • BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is reporting that this rainfall, combined with forecasted temperature in the low-to-mid-20 degree C range, will diminish the fire burning behaviour for the next seven to 10 days.
  • BCWS reports this will give crews a window to increase fire containment and suppression efforts.
  • At this time, there have been no changes made to any Evacuation Orders or Alerts in the CSRD area.
