[ARCHIVED] Notice of Permit: Development Variance Permit Number 641-50A

Wednesday, February 2, 2022

What is Development Variance Permit Number 641-50A (DVP641-50A)?

The subject properties are located at 1739 and 1753 Oberg Johnson Road in the Blaeberry area of Electoral Area A and are more particularly shown on the location mapz:

Oberg Johnson Road Map

The two subject lots are part of a three-lot boundary adjustment subdivision. This application requests a variance to the provisions of Part 8 - Assessment and Demonstration of Potable Water of Subdivision Servicing Bylaw Number 641, which if approved would allow for an exemption from proof of water requirements for these two proposed lots which are proposed to be serviced by wells which do not meet the exemption provisions. The provisions for exemption specify that the existing wells must be located a minimum of 30 m from all sources of potential contamination. The existing residences have well pits located in the basements of the dwellings. Well pits are considered to be a source of potential contamination, so these lots do not meet the exemption criteria. The applicant has provided a water quality assessment completed by a Qualified Professional in support of the proposed variance.
