What is Development Variance Permit Number 825-33 (DVP825-33)?

The subject properties are located at 2832, 2836, 2840, 2844, 2848, and 2852 (Lots 1-6) on Simpson Road in Lee Creek in Electoral Area F and are legally described as Lots 1-6 Section 25 Township 22 Range 12 West of the 6th Meridian Kamloops Division Yale District Plan KAP82698. These lots are more particularly shown on the location map below:

The subject properties are located in Lee Creek in Electoral Area F and are waterfront to Shuswap Lake. The applicant is proposing to vary the side parcel boundaries from 4.5 metre to 2 metre and the interior side parcel boundaries for accessory buildings from 3 metre to 2 metre for Lots 1-6 on Simpson Road. This application requires the following variances to the Scotch Creek / Lee Creek Zoning Bylaw Number 825:

  • Section 5.6.3 (f) minimum setback from side parcel boundaries from 4.5 metre to 2 metre.
  • Section 5.6.3 (f) minimum setback from interior side parcel for an accessory building from 3 metre to 2 metre.

A copy of the proposed permit application and relevant background documents may be inspected at the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD), 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm, beginning Thursday, January 7, 2021, and ending Thursday, January 21, 2021. (Please note that CSRD office hours open to the public are subject to change depending upon Provincial Health Orders and recommendations.) The documents will also be available to view on the CSRD website starting on Friday, January 15, 2021, on our Meetings, Agendas, and Minutes page under the applicable meeting date.

How do I send a written submission about this permit application?

Written submissions will be accepted at the CSRD until 4 pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. The Board of the CSRD considers the author's name and residential address relevant to the Board's consideration of this matter and should be included in your submission. The author's phone number and email address are not relevant to the Board's consideration of this matter and should not be included in the written submission. Written submissions received by the CSRD are subject to public disclosure and a copy may be provided to the applicant. Please clearly write "DVP Submission - DVP825-33" on your submission. Written submissions may be submitted to: CSRD Planning email or to the address above.

Where and when will the permit be considered for issuance?

At the CSRD, 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC, during the Regular Board Meeting commencing at 9:30 am on Thursday, January 21, 2021.

Due to special provisions regarding COVID-19 granted by Provincial Ministerial Order M192, the January 21, 2021 CSRD Board meeting will be taking place through the use of remote communications technology only. No public attendance is permitted at the meeting. There is no specific opportunity for the public to provide verbal or written submissions about this application at this meeting.
