The CSRD is conducting a Housing Needs Assessment to identify important housing issues in Electoral Areas B, D and F.
The process started in the spring of 2021 and an essential component of the study requires hearing from community members about housing issues.
Due to the challenges posed by this summer's wildfire season, it was much more difficult to try and engage with citizens and conduct outreach on the housing situation in Electoral Areas B, D and F. As such, the CSRD has extended the deadline for the online survey to give people more time to consider the issues and provide feedback.
The survey is available online at the CSRD website.
The new deadline is October 31, 2021.
To understand your needs, the CSRD would like to hear from residents of these three Electoral Areas. Electoral Area B is rural Revelstoke, Area D encompasses Ranchero, Falkland, Deep Creek and the Salmon Valley, while Electoral Area F is the North Shuswap.
The study is being conducted by Urbanics Consultants Limited and is designed to develop a better understanding of the current and emerging housing needs of the Regional District. It is being supported by a $45,000 grant from the Union of BC Municipalities. The funding is designed to help local governments meet new provincial regulations requiring local governments to complete Housing Needs Reports which evaluate housing needs in their areas and develop policies that would be included in a community's Official Community Plan.
If you have any questions or concerns related to the survey, please contact Brendan Dawe at Urbanics Consultants Limited via email.
