What is Temporary Use Permit Number 2500-04 (TUP2500-04)?

The subject property is located at 3265 Highway 97 in Glenemma of Electoral Area D and is legally described as Lot 2, Section 24, Township 17, Range 11, West of the 6th Meridian, Kamloops Division Yale District Plan 870. The property is more particularly shown on the location map below:

Temporary Use Permit 2500-04 Location

The property owners currently operate an apiary farm and have a farm sales building to sell honey products on the subject property. The property owners are applying to sell other products as well as their own on the property within the existing farm sales building and would also like to employ 2 additional persons besides the residents that reside on the property to help operate the home occupation.

How can I find out more about this permit application?

A copy of the proposed permit application and relevant background documents may be inspected at the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD), 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm, beginning Tuesday, March 30, 2021 and ending Thursday, April 15, 2021. (Please note that CSRD office hours open to the public are subject to change depending upon Provincial Health Orders and recommendations.) The documents will also be available to view on the CSRD website starting on Friday, April 9, 2021 on the Meetings, Agendas, and Minutes page under the applicable meeting date

How do I send a written submission about this permit application?

Written submissions will be accepted at the CSRD until noon on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. The Board of the CSRD considers the author's name and residential address relevant to the Board's consideration of this matter and should be included in your submission. The author's phone number and email address are not relevant to the Board's consideration of this matter and should not be included in the written submission. Written submissions received by the CSRD are subject to public disclosure and a copy may be provided to the applicant. Please clearly write "TUP2500-04" on your submission. Written submissions may be submitted by emailing CSRD Planning or to the address above.

Where and when will the permit be considered for issuance?

At the CSRD, 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC, during the Regular Board Meeting commencing at 9:30 am on Thursday, April 15, 2021.

Due to special provisions regarding COVID-19 granted by Provincial Ministerial Order M192, the April 15, 2021 CSRD Board meeting will be taking place through the use of remote communications technology only. No public attendance is permitted at the meeting. There is no specific opportunity for the public to provide verbal or written submissions about this application at this meeting.
