The K3 Cat Skiing Lodge operator has been notified by the Shuswap Emergency Program, the lodge is vacant and the situation is being monitored.
Due to the Bews Creek Fire’s remote location, the BC Wildfire Service is indicating this fire does not pose a current threat to any other structures. While smoke can be seen by members of the public in the Malakwa area and other parts of the Shuswap, there is no current risk to any residences or other structures.
The public is advised that due to high wildfire risk, citizens should take steps to be ready should a situation occur.
This includes:
- Preparing your home
- Making an emergency plan
- Gathering supplies for grab-and-go bags
More information is available on the Public emergency preparation and recovery webpage.
