[ARCHIVED] Power Outage Impacts Parts of Electoral Area A

Be Storm Ready

Be Storm ReadyMonday, November 15, 2021

An extreme weather event has hit much of the Province of British Columbia.

The Golden and Area Emergency Management program is aware that residents of specific areas of the CSRD's Electoral Area A have been without power for up to 24-hours.

Our Emergency Program Coordinator has activated our Emergency Support Services Volunteers and we are available to assist if required.

If you or anyone you know are currently being impacted by the power outage and require assistance, such as access to emergency supplies or shelter, please contact Kyle Hale, Emergency Program Coordinator at 250-344-8495.

If you still have power, here are some steps that you can take to prepare for a power outage:

  • Have flashlights handy
  • Charge all your mobile devices
  • Have a battery-operated radio on hand
  • Have your 72 hour emergency kit ready

And remember: do not use barbecues or camp stoves indoors. All emergency cooking should be done outside.
