CSRD Trunk Sale part of Revelstoke Re-Fest on May 27

Looking to sell, trade or give away some of your unwanted or previously-loved things but can’t hold your own garage sale?

Then you’ll want to take part in the free CSRD Trunk Sale being held in the parking lot of Centennial Park in Revelstoke on Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 10 AM to 1 PM.

Organized by the Columbia Shuswap Regional District’s (CSRD) Waste Reduction Program, the event promotes reusing and recycling, with one giant community garage sale.

The event is built around reuse and, most importantly, keeping items out of the landfill.

“The idea is to load up your car with stuff you no longer need and sell it, rather than throwing it away. Rather than hosting a sale on your own, this event brings people together for a garage sale on a much larger scale,” says Graham Casselman, the CSRD’s Waste Reduction Coordinator.

“There has been tremendous response to previous events in Revelstoke, with vendors selling everything from boats and bikes to clothing and furniture in past events with great success,” Casselman adds.

Anyone interested in being a vendor on sale day should sign up early. As the name suggests, you do the selling from the trunk of your car, van or back of your pickup. There’s no charge to be a vendor, but you do need to pre-register by contacting the CSRD’s Waste Reduction Coordinator at 250-833-5936 or gcasselman@csrd.bc.ca

The deadline to register as a vendor is Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

If you don’t have items to sell at the Trunk Sale, be sure to come and shop for great bargains in the parking lot next to Centennial Park (1016 Centennial Park Drive).

The Trunk Sale is being held in conjunction with Revy Re-fest which is a community upcycling festival with the goals of reducing, re-using, recycling, and repurposing. Various events will be held May 27 and 28. Visit www.re-fest.com for more information.
