The Sorrento Water System is located on the Trans-Canada Highway approximately 25 kilometres west of Salmon Arm and 75 kilometres east of Kamloops, in Electoral Area G.
The water system draws water from Shuswap Lake and treats it using ultraviolet disinfection and chlorination. The system also has emergency backup power and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) which provides full remote monitoring capabilities. View the Sorrento Water System Newsletters.
Expansion Opportunities
A public meeting was held May 7, 2019 to examine the possible addition of Mackenzie, Ewart and Kyte Roads to the Sorrento Water System. The project involves looking at options and getting all engineering work completed to be ready for a future grant application. A PowerPoint presentation was presented at the meeting to outline the project and provide more information. View the Sorrento Water System PowerPoint (PDF).
