Board of Variance

Area B Glacier National Park

A Board of Variance is an independent body of volunteers who make decisions on undue hardship applications. It consists of three people appointed by the CSRD Board of Directors for a three-year term.

Applications typically considered include variances to a bylaw regarding siting, size or dimensions of a building or other structure, although there are other situations under Section 540 of the Local Government Act. Board of Variance decisions are final.
