The CSRD has defined “Controlled Waste” in Bylaw 5542, listing a number of classes of hazardous waste, which may be disposed of at refuse disposal sites. All controlled waste disposal requests require authorization from CSRD staff prior to disposal at a CSRD refuse disposal site. The most common requests are related to hydrocarbon/non-hydrocarbon contaminated soil and waste containing asbestos. The CSRD has developed specific application forms for contaminated soil and asbestos which are available below. We encourage you to review the application forms and contact the CSRD to complete the application process.
