The Columbia Shuswap Regional District’s Emergency Operations Centre has been advised by BC Wildfire Services that the risk of danger to life and properties from the Bolean Lake Wildfire has diminished at this time.
The Evacuation Alert issued at 7:30 p.m. on July 20th, 2015 for 24 properties along the Chase-Falkland Road and the Bolean Lake Lodge, is hereby rescinded.
BC Wildfire Services report that favorable weather conditions have led to a significant decrease in fire behavior at the Bolean Lake Wildfire. This cooling trend, along with increasing containment levels, has considerably lowered the risk to nearby structures.
The Shuswap Emergency Program reminds residents that an Evacuation Alert or an Evacuation Order may need to be reissued again if the risk of danger to life and property should warrant such action.
