The Columbia Shuswap Regional District is pleased to announce the acquisition of a 1.08 acre lakefront property located at 1946 Bristow Road in the Celista area of Electoral Area F. The property will be utilized for a public boat launch and lakefront park.
The Electoral Area F Parks Plan identified public lake access as one of the highest priority items. The parcel includes over 100 feet of lakefront and lies adjacent to Bristow Road.
The property was purchased for $1,125,000.00 and was funded through the Electoral Area F Parkland Acquisition Reserve Fund and through internal borrowing over a five year period.
Electoral Area F Director Larry Morgan is happy that the CSRD has secured public lake access in the North Shuswap. “Since the inception of the Area F Parks Plan, we have pursued suitable lakefront property for a boat launch and lakefront park. Public lake access was deemed one of the highest priorities within the parks plan. I am incredibly pleased that we have acquired a great piece of property that is strategically located within the community and will accommodate lake access and the requisite parking.”
CSRD staff will be working on the preliminary planning and design for the boat launch over the next several months. Construction is expected to commence in 2018.
