A landslide occurred at approximately 12:00 AM on Saturday May 6, 2017 in the 5900 block of Sunnybrae Canoe Point Road.  The RCMP is on scene and a precautionary tactical evacuation of homes within the area is being conducted.

Robinson Creek Landslide Update

The Shuswap Emergency Program has activated an Emergency Operations Centre in support of a landslide event that occurred in the 5900 block of Sunnybrae-Canoe Point Road in Electoral Area C of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District.

Seymour Main Forest Service Road Mudslide Update

The Shuswap Emergency Program has activated an Emergency Operations Centre to support landslide events on the Seymour Main Forest Service Road at 2 km and 3 km.

The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources are currently conducting a geotechnical assessment of the area.  Updates will be provided as information becomes available.

The Columbia Shuswap Regional District has issued an Evacuation Order for thirteen properties located at 5866, 5874, 5882, 5890, 5900, 5921, 5922, 5932, 5933, 5940, 5941, 5947, and 5948 Sunnybrae-Canoe Point Road.

An Evacuation Order has been issued as a result of a landslide in the 5900 Block of Sunnybrae Canoe Point Road, Tappen, in Electoral Area C of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District.

The heavy rain from overnight thunderstorms, combined with snow melt from warmer temperatures has seen the flow and level of several water courses rise.

Seymour Main Forest Service Road Mudslide

The Shuswap Emergency Program received reports of two mudslides occuring at 2 km and 3 km on the Seymour Main FSR (northeast of St. Ives in Electoral Area F).

The road is currently closed.  The MInistry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations will be assessing the area on Saturday, May 6 to evaluate the incident and determine a timeline for reopening.
